Pacific Homes/Truss Company History

While times and technology in the construction industry change, the core values at Pacific Homes remain constant. Founded in 1959 by Ken McKinnon as Pacific Builders’ Supplies in Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island, the company has gone from strength to strength. Still operating as a family business, now run by Ken’s sons, Pacific Homes/Truss literally spans the globe.

In 1969 Pacific Builders’ Supplies started manufacturing roof trusses, making us the oldest truss manufacturer on Vancouver Island. And twelve years later Pacific Homes was established offering a smart, fast and affordable way to build a home. A commitment to innovation, technological advances and computer assisted design means that both Pacific Truss and Pacific Homes are industry leaders in their fields.

Community involvement has always been fundamental to the Pacific Homes family of companies, its owners and employees. A continued commitment to youth has seen Pacific Homes support youth sports programs including hockey and lacrosse. A field at the Cowichan Sportsplex is dedicated to the McKinnon Family. The McKinnon family has also made a long standing commitment to Providence Farm, a respected therapeutic community in the Cowichan Valley.

Pacific Homes/Truss is a valued employer, community and business partner in the Cowichan Valley and beyond.  We look forward to contributing to your success and thank you for the opportunity to do so.
