Frequently Asked Questions

Trusses made exactly the way you want them – every time.

That’s what Pacific Trusses are all about. Whether you are an architect or a do-it-yourselfer, our computerized assembly stations and laser technology ensure 100% accuracy for every truss – for each and every design.

Our panel of experts provides engineered solutions to help you with every aspect of each truss, from design to construction to delivery. We strive for excellence in all areas, and are continually making improvements to make our products even better. The Pacific Truss support team is always there to answer every question, at every level.

• Are your trusses engineered?
Yes! Every truss produced at our plant is engineered to meet the challenges of the most demanding roof line or floor system. That includes special loading conditions like extreme snow loads, mechanical units, hot tubs, or limited bearing situations like window walls or open design rooms. We work with Canadian and American Engineers so your trusses will meet the requirements of your location.

• Are your trusses only for simple designs?
No! While our pre-fab trusses are perfect for simple designs, they are also perfect for custom, intricate designs, where we are able to simplify the challenges of long spans and tricky, intersecting roof planes and special features. Our technical support staff is trained to implement any and all truss designs, including stock plans from a book, or trusses modified exactly to your specifications.

• What about using trusses as opposed to traditional rafter or stick framing?
Traditional rafter framing is labour intensive, and requires skilled framers, especially for the multi-sloped and angled roofs being built today. Not only that, with trusses, the install is simple and quick, saving time, money and man hours, and we look after the angles for you!

• Is it difficult to assemble a Pacific Truss Roof System?
No! Each truss is packaged in logical sequence with others and ready for installation on the job site. Just follow the straightforward documentation provided by Pacific Truss, including layouts and truss engineering sheets indicating placement, individual connection and bracing details.

• What information do I need to start my truss project?
We usually need to see your plan and talk to you about what you are looking for. That will give us the details and specific criteria that we need to begin the design work.
