Wooden buildings reach new heights

Found this interesting article and video broadcast, through BC Wood, about the use of wood in high rise buildings and wanted to share it with you –

Soon, the first tenants will start moving into a new block of council flats in Hackney in north London.

Nothing remarkable about that except Bridport House is built of wood, and it is the largest timber-built apartment block in the world.

It is possibly the biggest timber building of any kind.

Not only that, but a few hundred metres away there is another timber-built block of flats, rather smaller overall, but even taller.  [Read entire article and watch video]
